Acorn Public Library will be hosting a Blood Drive on Thursday, February 18. Versiti Blood Center of Illinois, formerly Heartland Blood Centers, will be in the parking lot accepting blood donations by appointment only, from 2:00-7:00pm. Every unit of blood is collected from volunteer donors who meet specific criteria and have been screened according to strict guidelines. Every unit is collected, transported, tested and stored according to tightly-controlled procedures. All donations will also be screened for COVID-19 antibodies. Volunteers who make an appointment and who successfully donate will receive an Acorn Library facemask.
