Lincoln’s Twenty-Five Hours at Gettysburg

Even though President Abraham Lincoln only spent 25 hours (Nov. 18-19, 1863) in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, he delivered what many consider the greatest speech ever written. While in the small town located in the south central portion of the state, Lincoln put the finishing touches on the address. This presentation will not focus on the address per se, but instead on the time the President spent while a visitor in this historic town, how he interacted with the locals, and how the people remembered him.To register, please call the library at 708-687-3700.
