Employment

Library Substitute

The Acorn Public Library District is seeking library workers with professional ethics and strong public service skills to serve as short term substitute staffing at our public services desks. Ideal applicants will live or work in the area and be available to fill in when regular staff shortages will leave our desks under-staffed (vacations, conferences, sick days, etc).

Substitutes will be expected to provide a diverse range of general library help desk services to all ages. These services will include circulating materials, instructing patrons in the use of electronic and print resources, and answering reference questions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One year of public library experience and reasonable availability to work occasional nights and/or weekends. Applicants should have strong computer skills, including Internet and the use of online databases, as well as the ability to learn the basics of the SirsiDynix automation system.

Salary range begins at $11.84 per hour.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Interested parties should submit a resume and cover letter to Library Director, Dorothy Koll via e-mail at mailto:dkoll@acornlibrary.org.

To check for updates, please return to this page or the RAILS Library Jobs Board.
