Due to a recent resurge of COVID-19 cases in our community, the Acorn Public Library will be limiting access to the library building starting Tuesday, November 17. The door to the library will be locked. You must ring the bell for entry. This is to ensure that we can safely maintain a small number of guests in the building at one time. Please feel free to wait outside or in your car until we can allow you to enter.
Curbside pick up of materials and virtual services will continue. The outdoor computer terminal will remain available. Staff will be available to answer questions and hold materials for you over the phone. Tables, chairs, and study carrels will remain unavailable until further notice. Please try to avoid bringing young children to the library at this time, and please choose your items quickly when in the library. Please make sure to have a face covering or mask that fits well with you and all the members of your family the next time you visit the library. The library will be issuing fewer reminders to patrons to properly wear masks before asking patrons to leave the library for the day.
The safety of our community and staff continues to be our top priority. We will continue to follow the guidance of the Cook County Health Department, Illinois Department of Health, and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and will re-evaluate plans as needed. Thank you for your continued support and understanding. We appreciate your patience in this unusual time.
